March 2026 brought a really varied mix of whisky releases, from classic Scotch distilleries to creative independents and newer world whisky names. Wine cask finishes are still everywhere, while blends and limited editions continue to evolve with more experimental ideas and storytelling.

Bruichladdich - Old Skool (25th Anniversary Release)


Released to mark 25 years since Bruichladdich’s revival, this one leans into the distillery’s modern, progressive style.

Glen Scotia - Campbeltown Malts Festival 2026



A yearly festival bottling, this edition continues Glen Scotia’s run of cask experiments.

Deanston - Orange Wine Cask Finish

Final Thoughts


March shows how broad the whisky category has become. There’s still plenty for traditional Scotch drinkers, but also a growing number of experimental releases, new markets and creative ideas coming through. The balance between heritage and innovation feels more important than ever — and producers seem keen to push both.
